Seven Characteristics of a (Christian) Sheep! Come on! Let's quickly go through and learn them! Believers are often compared to sheep in God’s Word, and God is portrayed as the Shepherd. But have you ever stopped to wonder—why sheep? Why not a lion, eagle, or some stronger animal? Understanding the nature of sheep gives us deep insight into how we are to walk with God—and why we need Him every day. 1. Sheep Are Gentle and Innocent Sheep are among the most peaceful animals in nature. They are gentle, quiet, and not aggressive. This reflects the purity and meekness God desires from His children. “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.” – Matthew 5:5 2. Sheep Are Followers by Nature Sheep don’t lead—they follow. Without a shepherd, they are prone to wander and get lost.
